Description
The 1994 GT Backwoods is an aluminum-framed mountain bike built around GT’s Triple Triangle design, with the main frame constructed from TIG pulse-welded 7005 heat-treated aluminum and a 73mm bottom bracket shell. The oversize 1-1/8″ GT Unicrown chromoly fork pairs with a DiaCompe sealed Aheadset, giving the front end added stiffness relative to standard-steerer setups of the era.
Drivetrain duties fall to a full Shimano Alivio Upgrade Edition groupset — 21-speed with Rapid-Fire Plus shifting, a 42/34/24 HyperDrive-C crankset, and Alivio cantilever brakes. Double-wall Weinmann alloy rims wrapped in Tioga Psycho 26×1.95 tires round out a trail-ready package available across four frame sizes.
