The UK’s first GT mountain bike team in 1990 season. GT was a new brand for importers Caratti Sport who had imported Specialized until Specialized set up Specialized UK. Caratti took on GT as the alternative. Tim Flooks had previously run the Specialized UK team in 1989 for Caratti Sport so for the 1990 season it was a move to GT brand. Team boss and racing member was Tim Flooks, with other team members, Mike Newton (established and one of UK’s best who previously rode on the 1989 Specialized UK team) and Andy Gordon (young, upcoming and talented) along with Rory Hitchens (pictured above), who had moved over from Raleigh after they made their team full Pro.
