Description
The 2009 GT Avalanche 2.0 Disc is a 26-inch wheel hardtail mountain bike built around a 6061 butted aluminum frame featuring GT’s Triple Triangle design, a hydroformed downtube, and a zero-stack headtube. The frame is disc-compatible and includes a removable derailleur hanger for added practicality on the trail.
Suspension duties fall to a Suntour XCR-LO fork with 30 mm chromoly stanchions, magnesium lowers, 100 mm of travel, preload adjustment, and a lockout for climbing efficiency. Stopping power comes from Tektro Aquila mechanical disc brakes, while the drivetrain pairs a Shimano FC-M311 triple crankset with a Deore M-531 rear derailleur across an 8-speed system. Kenda Nevegal 26×2.1 tires handle mixed terrain duties.
