Description
The 2009 GT GTw Avalanche 1.0 Disc is a women’s-specific aluminum mountain bike built around GT’s Triple Triangle frame design in 6061 alloy with a hydroformed downtube and geometry tuned for a female rider. The SR MAG-32 fork delivers 100mm of travel through 32mm aluminum stanchions with magnesium lowers, lock-out, preload, hydraulic damping, and GTw Soft Springs calibrated for lighter riders.
Drivetrain duties fall to a Shimano Deore/SLX nine-speed setup paired with a 44/34/22 triple crankset, while Tektro Auriga Comp dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power. WTB SX-24 double-wall rims wrapped in 26×2.1 Kenda Kharisma tires round out a trail-capable package available in four frame sizes.
