Description
The 1992 GT Timberline is an entry-to-mid-level mountain bike built around GT’s Triple Triangle chromoly frame, which uses True Temper main tubes, a reinforced 1-1/8″ oversize head tube, internal cable routing, and tapered seat stays with forged dropouts. A matching GT unicrown fork with chromoly blades and a butted 1-1/8″ steerer completes the front end.
Drivetrain duties fall to a Shimano 300LX crankset with BioPace chainrings in a 48/38/28T configuration, paired with Shimano 500LX derailleurs and Rapid-Fire STI shifters. Araya VP-20 silver-anodized alloy rims in 26×1.5 wrap the 26-inch wheels, and a rear U-brake setup with GT cable crosser handles stopping. Five frame sizes cover a broad range of riders.
