Description
The 1993 GT Team Avalanche is a high-specification mountain bike built around a TIG pulse-welded True Temper GTX heat-treated double-butted chromoly frame, featuring GT’s Triple Triangle design and a replaceable alloy derailleur hanger. The fork is either GT’s own “Bologna Lite” triple-butted chromoly unit with a 1-1/8″ oversize steerer or a Rock Shox MAG21 suspension fork, depending on build.
Componentry is drawn entirely from Shimano’s XTR group, including Rapid-Fire Plus shifters, 24-speed dual SIS derailleurs, and low-profile cantilever brakes. Mavic M-231 rims and Panaracer 26×2.1 tires complete a build oriented toward serious trail and cross-country riding. The frame is offered in five sizes, from 14.5″ to 20″.
