Description
The 1992 GT Avalanche is a mountain bike built around GT’s Triple Triangle frame design, combining True Temper GTX double-butted chromoly tubing with an oversize 1-1/8″ reinforced head tube and a 73mm bottom bracket shell. The fork is either a GT 3D unicrown in triple-butted chromoly or an optional Rock Shox Mag20 with dial adjust. Drivetrain duties fall to a Shimano Deore DX/XT mix, pairing Rapid-Fire Plus STI shifters with DX cranks carrying a 46/36/24T chainring set.
Rolling stock consists of Ritchey Vantage Expert 26″ silver-anodised rims laced to 32 holes and wrapped in Panaracer Smoke 2.1″ tires. Five frame sizes, from 14.5″ to 22″, accommodate a wide range of riders.
