Description
The 1993 GT Avalanche AL is an aluminium mountain bike built around a TIG pulse-welded 7005 aluminium alloy frame using GT’s Triple Triangle design, heat-treated for added strength. The frame ships with a replaceable alloy derailleur hanger, a practical detail for trail use. Fork options include either GT’s own chromoly “Bologna Lite” triple-butted blades with a 1-1/8″ oversize steerer or a Rock Shox MAG21 suspension unit.
Drivetrain duties fall to Shimano Deore DX Rapid-Fire Plus shifters paired with Deore XT derailleurs across 21 speeds, while Mavic M-231 rims and Ritchey Z-Max 26×2.1 tires handle rolling stock. Shimano Deore LX cantilever brakes complete the package.
