Now, for the first time ever, the Avalanche features a made-in-the-USA 6061 heat-treated aluminium butted frame. That's important because when it's made in the USA by GT, you know you're getting the best quality on the market, period. We didn’t hold back with the quality components either. You'll find Shimano LX 8-speed shifting and drivetrain (with an XT rear derailleur), Shimano V-Brakes, and clipless pedals leading the charge, with support from KORE Lite handlebars and stem and GT cut-weld bar ends. With the standard GT Unicrown fork or the optional Rock Shox Indy SL (the lightest Rock Shox on the market), the Avalanche will roll over the competition.
