Description
The 1993 GT Outpost is a chromoly hardtail mountain bike built around a TIG pulse-welded Tange chromoly main tube frame featuring GT’s Triple Triangle design. The fork is a GT unicrown unit with 1-1/8″ chromoly oversize blades, adding rigidity at the front end. Drivetrain duties fall to a 21-speed Shimano Altus C10/C20 setup with a 48/38/28 triple chainring crankset, controlled via Shimano CT-15 shifters. Shimano BB-TY20 low-profile alloy cantilever brakes handle stopping, while silver-anodized Araya AP-21 alloy rims laced with 26×1.95 knobby tires complete the rolling gear.
Available in an unusually broad range of frame sizes — including dedicated ladies’ and children’s variants — the Outpost is clearly aimed at making capable trail riding accessible across a wide spectrum of riders.
