1993 GT RTS 2
Engineered to take the beating out of a hard ride, the RTS-2 takes suspension bike performance to a higher ground. Its powerful frame utilises the same unique rocker arm suspension and coil-over-shock system s the RTS-1, allowing the RTS-2 to climb as well as it descends.
Description
The 1993 GT RTS 2 is a full-suspension mountain bike built around a 7005 aluminium alloy front triangle, heat-treated and TIG pulse-welded, paired with a Tange chromoly rear triangle. Suspension duties are handled by a USA-made Noleen adjustable coil-over unit at the rear pivot and a RockShox Quadra fork up front. The drivetrain runs Shimano Deore LX throughout, including Rapid-Fire Plus shifters, 21-speed dual SIS derailleurs, and an LX crankset with SG-X 46/36/26 chainrings.
Mavic M-231 32-hole rims wrapped in Ritchey Z-Max 26×2.1 tires round out a capable trail build, while the 1-1/8″ Tioga Aheadset reflects the oversize steering standards gaining traction in the early 1990s.
